Historically, Arizona has been known for the five C's – copper, climate, citrus, cattle and cotton. As we celebrate Arizona’s Centennial, we propose that we add a sixth C with “culinary”. Our state possesses everything from famous James Beard award winners to distinguished chefs to mom and pop cooks, who have shaped the way people taste our wondrous state.

Since its formal admission into the union 100 year ago, Arizona has been known for the 5 Cs: copper, climate, citrus, cattle and cotton. In honor of Arizona’s 100th birthday, chefs from all over the state have collaborated to help Arizona be recognized for a sixth C: cuisine.
To that end, a unique team of proud Arizonans have put together an amazing cookbook, titled "100 Years, 100 Chefs, 100 Recipes."
"Designated as an official Arizona Centennial Legacy Project by the Arizona Historical Advisory Commission (AHAC), '100 Years, 100 Chefs, 100 Recipes' acknowledges the culinary prowess that Arizona has harnessed over the past 100 years," says the team. "It is a collection of recipes from Arizona’s James Beard award winning chefs, mom-and-pop chefs, old-time favorite restaurants, and all the passionate professionals who have contributed to our state’s flavors."
