We are producers and purveyors of high quality, unprocessed, local, hand-crafted foods. We jar seasonal, unfiltered, Arizona honey, sold based on superior consistency and flavor. Zack Funke, the owner and novice beekeeper, is a member of BACA (Beekeepers Association of Central Arizona). Through this association we stay in touch with local conditions and producers and source only the highest quality and freshest Arizona honey. We also craft dehydrated veggie snack foods that will please palates unaccustomed to "health food". We currently offer our signature "kale chip", created by drenching pesticide-free kale leaves in a seasoned cashew sauce, then dehydrating the whole leaf to a crisp perfection at 115 degrees for 24 hours. These nutrient dense snacks are all vegan and have won over kale lovers and haters alike. We currently offer the chips in Original, Extra Cheesy, Spicy, and Garlic.
Where We Work and Live
Our kitchen is located in downtown Phoenix off of McDowell and 22nd Ave. Every kale chip is hand laid on trays in a puzzle like pattern in order to ensure even drying. We jar and bottle the honey by hand at the kitchen. Currently plans are being realized to build our very own apiary in South Phoenix. Details about the honeys availability will be posted online. All of the Arizona honey we sell is harvested and extracted in the greater Phoenix area.

Pollen can also be used to combat seasonal allergies. By ingesting the pollen your immune system is informed of environmental pollens in an assimilable way. Thus, when presented with the pollen in the open environment you can resist the allergic response you normally have. The pollen sold through The Health Foodie has particular benefit for those that live in Arizona or the Southwest, as you will build a particular immunity to desert pollens.
